David A. Mortman is a co-founder and Managing Director of JDA Partners, LLC. In addition to managing direct client engagements, David is also responsible for overseeing the legal mechanics of our clients' transactions.
David has over 35 years experience as a business lawyer and investment banker, advising companies at virtually every stage of their development in a wide range of assignments, for both public and privately held companies. Particular areas of expertise include mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, business succession, business combinations, syndications, franchising, exit options and distressed and liquidation strategies.
Prior to JDA Partners, David ran a boutique legal practice focusing on mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, private equity transactions, and real estate. After merging his practice with a large middle-market firm, he then became President of an $80M technology reseller business that serviced clients in the Northeast.
David received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel and his law degree from the University of Virginia. He served in the United States Army as a Captain, U.S Army Infantry, Airborne qualified officer.
